Life is for the living. There have been plenty of times where I have wanted to quit and throw in the towel. But God told me Kennedi, not yet. I might wallow, scream, shout, or cry but I wake up and keep it pushing. It’s not easy. It’s a hard pill to swallow, hating where you are currently at in your life & not seeing a way out. But God! He sends you signs, miracles, and blessings. His grace and mercy renew every day. Surround yourself with genuinely supportive and loving people. Stay positive and hold on Joy comes in the morning. Remember, I LOVE YOU

I am in a complete daze. We are living in uncertain times. COVID-19 has disrupted what we thought life was. Life will now & forevermore never be the same. We have lost so many loved ones that we never got a chance to tell I love you or goodbye one last time. Some were swept away in their sleep & we did not even know the cause of it until disaster struck. Everyone is saying we have to pray & seek God and I am a firm believer in the Holy Trinity. God has seen me through some mighty dark days. But what about the individuals that do not believe in God? What about the individuals of other religions or the spiritual but non-religious individuals? We need to find common ground & come together as human beings and that common ground should be love. If we extend love & kindness to one another, oh what ways we could change the world & the way everyone views it. In a world where reality TV and social media reigns, most don't know what's real and what's fake. We live behind memes, filters, and gifs so we don't have to face reality. And the reality is not backstabbing your friends or sleeping with your girl or homeboy better half. Nor is having a bunch of kids and not taking care of them. Put down your phone, cut off your tv and communicate with those around you. Get our villages and family structures back in the black communities. There are no blessings in drama. How much success will you have if you hurt your sisters and brothers to get to the top? It's not fun if you have no one to enjoy it with. Disconnect from what society tells you, you should have and be doing at this point in your life. God knew you from the end to the beginning. He's an awesome God and He makes no mistakes. I'm not very good at communicating my feelings. It has messed me up a time or two in my life. When I go to my therapy sessions all I do is talk and cry, nose running and everything. I don't know if it was the personality of my previous therapist and the warm friendly personality of my current therapist, but they really got me to open up to them. I feel like my current therapist is really trying to help me with my life and the issues that led me to therapy. I'm learning more about myself and how to deal with the negative things life throws my way. Every day is not going to be sunny and I'm learning to live in the moment. Parents you need to learn how to communicate with your children and not just talk at them, listen to what they are saying verbally and physically. In black households you get that " what I say goes, I'm the mama you're the child" so kids tend to hide their feelings inside which can later affect them during the rest of their life. ...

Now I have side aspirations to be a model. I joked with a friend of mine who wants to start doing photography and I said that I'll pose for him whenever he needs a model. Now I can start my social media modeling career because Instagram models are winning. Sike!!! I love seeing how my different moods and emotions are captured though the photographers’ eye. Seeing how I am captured on film does something to me. It doesn't make me cocky or stuck up, it just makes the flower inside of me bloom more. The current path I'm on in life right now is all about self-care. If it disrupts my peaceful atmosphere it must go. That includes people, I'm just not here for it anymore. I've discovered more about myself lately than I have in all my 30 years of life and I'm loving it. I'm only going up from here. 31 is my year of prosperity. From birth until you are maybe a pre-teen you are who your parents molded you to be. Starting around the ages of 11 and 12 you start to grow into your own person. Still holding on to those teachings of your parents or guardians, you also start to learn more about life and the type of person you want to be. So that still leaves the question of, do you know who you truly are? Fast forward to college and you learned even more new things about yourself. So you adopted some more new ways and let go of old ways. When life after college hit, you started to learn more new things as an adult that would either help or hinder your new stage of life. Then that dreadful day comes where you don't really realize who you are or who you want to be. You've been who your parents raised you to be, who your friends want you to be, and who your job determines you need to be to accurately perform the duties for your title. This was the title of one of my latest biblical devotional and it kept floating around in my head. I felt this was what my next blog should be about since I hadn't written a post in a few months. No matter how bad, or how many times you mess up God forgives you. You have to forgive yourself and let it go. He is not malicious, nor does He play tricks. He stands on His word and the promises He gave you. He will never leave your side, so let go of your mistakes, troubled past, and bad times and stand firm knowing that God got you. He created you for a purpose no matter what you've done along the road to get there. His love, grace, & mercy will not change because of your actions. He’s the same God forever more. Leave your past in the past and make the most of your future. Start fresh today because He gave you new mercies this morning. Remember I LOVE YOU!!! ​
